My biggest hurdle to stay creative is finding things that are interesting, regardless if they’re real or just in my imagination.
Having given myself the opportunity to become serious with the camera, has introduced me to a new way of seeing and become more emerged into the subject matter. And by that, I do not only mean getting close and observing things from a low angle.
Seeking dynamic compositions is my first step to start working all the possibilities. Although I do not yet have a set formula, I force myself to work within the boundaries of the rule of thirds because with that way I can conceptualize with a lot more confidence.
Visual dynamism cannot exist without balance. Otherwise, the composition loses clarity. So, when working in a controlled environment, once I have all the elements placed within the frame, I then give myself some slack to add surprising elements that build a visual narrative.
