Having had the opportunity to bring my compact camera to my local senior center served me with a chance to take some interesting candid shots as part of an assignment for Latin Colors Magazine. A huge benefit of using a compact camera is that people seem to let their guard down and don't take me too seriously, and that enables me to get closer to the subject and be more receptive to what's going on at the moment.http://latincolorsmag.com

Needless to say, I couldn't have asked for better subjects to shoot; the amount of energy emanating from each and every single person I interacted with was incredible. It made me realize how many of us take things so seriously when we are young, and how that perception changes as we become older.
