I didn't have a set plan when I went to New Haven for a photo walk. My goal was to come back home with a set of images that convey a sense of street life, and if some of those images would show people doing their thing, even better! I plan on my next photo walk to narrow my focus so that most images can share a common thread, because not being used to be surrounded by so many people, it took me a long while to adjust myself and concentrate. I think that giving myself a set of rules might help me to get positive results. Some rules might be something as simple as going with a set number of shots in mind, only shoot verticals, etc
These are some of my favorites photos from that day. I took all these pictures using the manual, zone focusing ring on my camera as it allows me to work swiftly and increases my chances of capturing people's body language and interaction with one another. Overall, this photo walk took a little more than an hour, and I'm planning to go back in the next couple of weeks once trees begin to bloom.
