Filling the Frame, Making Each Shot Count

The location is a very iconic place; on the day I met with Myrka, Bethesda Terrace was full of people doing engagement, wedding and fashion photo shoots. Despite the number of people there, Bethesda Terrace in Central Park is a beautiful location to bring a camera, so it’s up to photographers to maximize their limited space when working in a public site like Central Park.

In this case;  I chose to shoot up close and fill the frame to avoid distractions, like other people nearby doing the same thing I was doing. Also, I would consider meeting early in the day next I meet for a portrait session in a public place like Central Park.

Nonetheless, as I looked through the set of images from this shoot, I realize I could have done a better job including parts of the location because that could put them into context. I became aware of that near halfway through the shoot, and tried including the gorgeous ceiling that’s inside the terrace by shooting from ground level using my wide angle lens.
