I first visited Edgerton Park early in the spring and was excited to go back for a new portrait session. The conditions were not as I expected, and I blame the hard noon summer light for making things dull. Looking back, I can see how using off-camera flash could have given me better results filling up shadows and increasing sharpness, fortunately, I brought a reflector which came handy to control some highlights. In all accounts, I was thrilled to shoot with Briona, a model who brings a great deal of character to the camera. This was my second set of portraits that were primarily taken with the 50mm F 1.4. I also used an 85mm 1.8 and a 24mm F2. I underexposed the highlights in hopes I would be able to bring detail from the RAW files. Some of my favorite shots came up by the end of the photo shoot as we moved to an open field and I tried to capture a sense of movement with her natural body language.
