I started this small painting back in January, inspired by a photo I took of a model in 2016.

Recently, I’ve been experimenting with different painting mediums and have come to appreciate the immediacy that acrylics have to offer.

I didn’t expect this small painting to take nearly three months, but in that process I realized why I should not skip prep work. Had I spent more time refining the concept, I definitely would’ve saved myself some frustration during that time.

Now that it’s off my easel, I’m eager to apply the lessons I’ve learned from this piece to my next one!
