I started sketching more regularly later in the spring to challenge myself, but soon after, making sketches became a way to relax. As I'm getting closer to my 200th upload on the sketchy app, I wanted to take a moment and reflect on my current sketching process.

As I became more I interested in sketching, I was eager to try different pencils and approaches to working with graphite! I sketch on separate small sketchbooks doing multiple sketches at the same time because for me, sticking to a single sketchbook feels daunting, and working this way tricks my brain to think of sketching as a project.

These days, I prefer to work from a photograph, primarily using the sktchy/museum app. In some cases, the reference photo plays a small part; and I place the subject in a different context. My next step is to organize my photo library and begin designing future compositions.
